How To Flavor Plain Yogurt

Okay so I had a plain 4 lb. tub of plain yougurt that was given to me. The only thing I could think of was to use it in place of sour cream. It works and taste great as a sour cream substitute. But 4 lbs is a lot and with only a 2 month expiration date. I was thinking how can I make it taste good so my children will eat it. I thought about making chocolate flavor but no one wanted that since it has a sour/tart flavor. So I dug through my cabinets and found a box of flavored gelatin. Oh yea I use it to make whipped cream pies so it should work. I sprinkled a packet into the tub  of yogurt a little at a time mixing with a wire wisk. I used a rubber spatula to get all the yogurt around the side and bottom to mix in well, and continued to mix. When I was finished hmmm this is good and it taste a lot like those kids gogurts. And what do you know my children are eating it! No wasted healthy yogurt. This still had a little sour taste which my children love. But if your children or yourself don't like sour slowly add another packet of gelatin to taste. I used sugar free gelatin since my husband is diabetic. And I stay away from sugar to help offset ggetting diabetes when my Mother's whole family has it. It will work with either sugar or artificial sweetened gelatin. You can use what ever flavor you want. Play around with different flavors and enjoy.
